On February 2nd, a new pledge class was inducted into the Delta Nu chapter. During the spring semester, the new members will partake in the Bridge to Brotherhood Program. Pledge Educators, Bridget Hart and Jake Moore, will prepare the new members through this program to enhance their professional development while teaching them values of Alpha Kappa Psi. We are so excited to welcome the 31 new members!
Recruitment Week Spring 2020
From January 21st to January 24th, we held our recruitment week for the Spring 2020 semester. During this week, the current brothers were able to meet, interact with, and explain the values of Alpha Kappa Psi to potential new members. Each day there was a new event for brothers and potential new members to attend such as “Meet the Brothers”, “Professional Night”, and a new event created this semester, “Committees and Coffee”. The purpose of this new event was to allow the potential new members to develop an understanding of each committee and how each one serves a purpose in further developing our chapter.
Thank you to all of the students who came out to learn more about Alpha Kappa Psi during this week! Also, thank you to the brothers and the recruitment team which included Daryl Zawaski, Nick Woodhull, Tia Hachwa and Nick Enrique, for all of your dedication to make the recruitment season a success!
Delta Nu at AKPsi Convention, Dallas Texas
Our Delta Nu Chapter had two representatives go down to Dallas to the AKPsi Convention on July 31st to August 3rd. Here our two junior brothers Matthew Seltzer and Tyler Clogg learned what it truly means to be a brother in Alpha Kappa Psi, meet more brothers from around the world, and took away some great tips on how to be a successful leader in the business world.
Matthew, a junior Chemical Engineer, who recently ended his co-op with Cargill said, “Dallas was an experience I will never forget. I have met brothers whom will positively effect my life in the future and I can look to for help and fun. The next convention is in Miami. I see myself down on the beach in 2 years seeing the similar faces I saw and became close with in Dallas this year.
Our second representative, Tyler Clogg, a junior studying Political Science and Criminal Justice Studies said, “Dallas is one of my favorite memories that I have from being a member of AKPsi. Throughout the week, I met so many amazing brothers from across the world and all walks of life. I made connections with brothers that I otherwise would have never crossed paths with. You'll see me at convention again in two years in Miami for sure.”
Sounds like we know where I am going to find Matthew and Tyler in 2021… Miami!
Thank you brothers for taking a step out of your comfort zone and we cannot wait to hear all about your experiences back at school!
Recap of Alumni Weekend 2019
Thank you to all the alumni that came out for alumni weekend! It was great for both the alumni and the current brothers to meet and connect to talk about Alpha Kappa Psi, Dayton, and work after college. The weekend started off by a pre-dinner basketball game at the updated arena followed by watching the Flyers play Rhode Island. Although the Flyers lost, it was still a great game! On Saturday morning we invited the alumni to the Miriam Atrium for a brunch and presentation about our current chapter. Our president, Matt Best, talked about our current chapter and plans we have for the future including implementing a philanthropy and getting our Chapter Designated Fund up and running to help our chapter financially. The alumni had the opportunity to learn about the different committees our chapter has, and they were able to talk one-on-one to brothers following the brunch. We had a really great weekend and we can’t wait for Alumni Weekend 2020!
