Michael Currin '20 Memorial Fundraiser Walk

From October 9th to the 16th, many Alpha Kappa Psi brothers as well as many friends and family members competed in the Michael Currin Memorial Fundraiser Walk to help raise money for the Currin family. Michael was a freshman student from Moller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio who passed away recently. He was loved by anyone who came into contact with him and his passing left a huge hole in the hearts of within the Dayton community.  The University of Dayton community has done an amazing job supporting the Currin family in a variety of ways and Alpha Kappa Psi is blessed that we were able to contribute to that in with this fundraiser. Teams were made up of 2-5 individuals from AKPSI as well as other friends and families from the Dayton Community. The goal was to walk as many steps as you could throughout the week that it was taking place. Prizes were given out to the teams and individuals who finished in the top three. With the help from 232 participants, our chapter was able to raise $2,305 for the Michael Currin Memorial Fund! Thanks again to everyone who was able to put this fundraiser together and was able to make it such a success!

This past weekend we were fortunate enough to welcome 27 alumni back to campus! This weekend poses a opportunity for alumni to hear about the advancements of the Delta Nu chapter and the brothers to learn about the alumni’s experiences. The weekend kicked off with alumni and brothers networking on Friday night. On Saturday alumni and current brothers attended a luncheon. At the luncheon, the executive board and the heads of each committee presented the developments of our chapter. VP of Alumni, Clare Phelan, also presented the plan for implementing the new Alumni Mentor program. This program acts a beneficial way for alumni and current brothers to interact while gaining advice and insight. If you were unable to attend the weekend but are interested in learning more about the program, please email Clare @phelanm3@udayton.edu.
